DevOps Camp 2020!
We're back for the 6th iteration of DevOps Camp, and we've got an intense few days planned, at the world's most in-depth, immersive and close-knit educational event dedicated to DevOps in the Microsoft space. Our coverage of topics ranges from Desired State Configuration, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, to real-world practical implementations of DevOps.
What makes DevOps Camp unique? The intimacy and scope of the event. Only 20 participants are accepted each year, along with a handpicked panel of experts. PowerShell legend and former MVP Don Jones, and Microsoft Principal Program Manager Michael Greene are a few of the special guests we have in store for you. Our long weekend of deep discussions, real-world demonstrations, and practical advice, keep us driven and passionate year-round. With a private Slack channel, public content, and projects, not only do we keep our alumni coming back, but we get to help create change in our respective fields.
Camp isn’t a conference, and its sessions aren’t recorded (someone asks every year), because there are no sessions. While past Campers present the bulk of the material, it’s a lot more like a discussion, workshop, and research lab rolled into one. From morning through each evening, we’re working… …far beyond the weekend… sometimes even major projects, like ’Tug,’ the open-source DSC pull server, and Datum, the hierarchical data meta-structure, were invented at Camp!
Our conversations start as soon as you arrive. Catching up with old friends, learning from new ones, our drives, our projects, all start with a simple hello. From morning through night, we're working through solutions and coming up with completely new ideas on how to take DevOps practices to the next level. The conversations we start, last far beyond the weekend, with advice, Slack conversations, git repositories, insights, even podcasts, and interviews!
Hotel is included, at The Downtown Grand in Las Vegas, as are some meals. Arrival is Wednesday, July 8th, with an informal meet up that evening, with sessions starting Thursday July 9th in the morning. Departure on Sunday afternoon July 12th with light sessions and discussion in the morning. Details and schedule to come. Additional nights at the hotel before/after Camp, will be done through Jeff Bernt (firstname.lastname@example.org) at the registrant's expense. Once registered, we'll add you to our Slack channel, which will be used to communicate more effectively with your fellow Campers year-round.
